Ash Gardner addresses personal controversy ahead of WBBL season
Sydney Sixers captain Ash Gardner has addressed recent scrutiny regarding her private life during the club’s season launch in Sydney. Gardner spoke about the challenges following allegations made in July by her estranged wife, Monica Wright, regarding an affair with Australian teammate Georgia Voll. Gardner described cricket as a “shining light” that helped her navigate the difficult period. She also expressed gratitude to outgoing Sixers general manager Rachael Haynes for her support in maintaining Gardner’s leadership role at the club despite the public controversy.
