Asha Bhosle honored with AR Rahman tribute song ‘Asha Forever’

To mark the 93rd birth anniversary of legendary Indian playback singer Asha Bhosle, music composer AR Rahman has released a special tribute song titled ‘Asha Forever’. The song was unveiled in Mumbai by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, alongside composer AR Rahman, Cabinet Minister Ashish Shelar, and Bhosle’s granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle.

Asha Forever’ was recorded by Rahman with Bhosle during her lifetime and features musicians from the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. The project, released by Rooh Records and distributed by Warner Music India, was filmed in both London and Mumbai. The tribute aims to celebrate the enduring legacy of the singer, who was widely regarded as one of India’s most versatile vocalists.

In a separate musical milestone, Bhosle’s final film song, ‘Ae Meri Zindagi’ from the movie ‘Om Ka Hari’, was also released. The track was recorded in 2023 and features the singer performing the piece in its entirety multiple times, showcasing her professional dedication even at the age of 90.
