Ashaka Cement signs five-year development pact with Gombe host communities

Ashaka Cement Limited, a subsidiary of HBM Nigeria Plc, has signed five-year Community Development Agreements (CDAs) covering the period from 2026 to 2030 with the Funakaye and Maiganga communities in Gombe State.

The agreements establish a framework for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) interventions across several sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, road rehabilitation, water supply, and security. Specific planned projects include the construction of schools and maternity clinics, the installation of solar-powered boreholes, scholarship programs for students, and the provision of free fertilizer and seedlings for agricultural support.

Managing Director Ibrahim Aminu announced that HBM Nigeria Plc, a member of the Huaxin Group, has also initiated an expansion program to increase production capacity by more than three times, with commissioning expected in the first quarter of 2027. This expansion is intended to create additional employment opportunities for local residents. Gombe State officials noted that the structured framework aims to strengthen relations and provide a mechanism for resolving disputes through dialogue.
