Ashford International Truckstop named UK’s best truckstop

Ashford International Truckstop in Kent has been named the inaugural ‘Best Truck Stop of the Year’ by the industry group Logistics UK. Selected from over 200 nominations, the site was judged by HGV drivers on criteria including security, lighting, food availability, and value for money.

Logistics UK president Phil Roe noted that while Ashford International is a deserving winner, high-quality facilities remain the exception rather than the rule. The organization highlighted a national shortage of safe and secure parking locations, calling for a review of rest facilities within national planning frameworks.

The Department for Transport stated that providing safe roadside access is vital and announced an investment of up to £35.7 million with industry partners to improve driver rest areas and support the movement of goods across the country.
