Ashish Joshi questioned by Delhi Police for nine hours
Ashish Joshi, a former bureaucrat and Controller of Communication Accounts in the Department of Telecommunications, was questioned for approximately nine hours by the Delhi Police Special Cell on Wednesday.
Police sources stated that the questioning was related to social media posts concerning the Election Commission of India. The case was reportedly registered under Section 192 of the BNS, which pertains to provocation intended to cause a riot. Authorities clarified that Joshi was not arrested but was called in for questioning.
Joshi alleged that the police picked him up from Chanakyapuri during a morning walk and refused his requests to inform his family of his whereabouts for several hours, citing orders from above. He stated he was finally able to contact his family at 6:38 p.m. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit also criticized the police operation, noting that Joshi's whereabouts remained unknown to his associates for much of the day.
