Ashkelon Bus Crash Kills Woman, Injures Two Seniors

A severe traffic collision occurred on David Remez Street in Ashkelon when a bus struck three pedestrians at the city’s bus terminal. A woman estimated to be in her 60s‑80s was trapped under the bus wheels, lost consciousness and, despite rescue attempts, was declared dead at the scene. Two other women, both in their 70s, sustained serious to moderate injuries and were transported to Barzilai Hospital for treatment.

Magen David Adom emergency crews arrived promptly, performed extraction using lifting equipment, and provided medical care. Paramedics reported, “We had to declare her dead on site after confirming no pulse or breathing.” The bus driver, a man in his 40s, and the other passengers were unharmed. Police have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the crash.
