Ashley Smith jailed for two years after harassing ex-partner

Ashley Smith, 38, has been sentenced to two years in prison by Cambridge Crown Court after admitting to three counts of harassment in breach of a restraining order. The sentencing follows a previous conviction for stalking his former partner.

Despite a restraining order issued in May, Smith repeatedly contacted the victim and her associates using withheld numbers. During these communications, he made death threats against the victim and threatened to kill any potential romantic partner. Detective Constable Kyle Miskin noted that Smith’s actions left the victim “living in fear and constantly looking over her shoulder.” Smith was arrested at Stansted Airport on June 18.
