Ashley St. Clair rejects $40 million NDA from Elon Musk

Ashley St. Clair, a writer and former partner of Elon Musk, revealed that she rejected a $40 million offer to sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) regarding her relationship with the entrepreneur. The revelation was made during a press conference at the Venice Film Festival during the presentation of the documentary ‘Musk’, directed by Alex Gibney.

According to St. Clair, the proposal was managed by Musk’s financial manager, Jared Birchall. The initial offer reportedly involved a $15 million transfer for housing and reserve capital. This was later expanded into a total package of $40 million, which included an initial $15 million plus $100,000 per month for 20 years. In exchange, St. Clair would have been prohibited from discussing Musk, his employees, his companies, or his collaborators.

St. Clair, who shares a child with Musk, stated she declined the agreement to prioritize her right to speak and to set an example for her children, noting that one should never prioritize material comfort over telling the truth. Her refusal allowed her to participate openly in the documentary production.
