Ashley Young criticizes Antonio Conte's management style
Former Inter Milan and Manchester United player Ashley Young has shared insights into his experience working under manager Antonio Conte. Speaking on the podcast ‘The Overlap’, Young described Conte as ‘crazy’ and noted his intense management style, which includes extremely long meetings.
Young recalled that following a loss, meetings could last three to four hours, effectively halting all other activities. He suggested that Conte’s tendency to challenge not only players mentally but also club boards and owners may be why his tenures at various clubs are often short.
Regarding rumors of Conte potentially managing Manchester United, Young warned it could be a ‘disaster’ if the current squad is unwilling to meet his high physical demands. He noted that Conte’s methods require significant running, a factor he previously discussed with players during his time at Chelsea.
