Ashnikko performs Gwen Stefani cover on triple j

American artist Ashnikko has made her debut on the Australian music segment ‘Like A Version’ for triple j. During her Australian tour, she performed a theatrical, electropop-leaning cover of Gwen Stefani’s 2004 hit ‘What You Waiting For?’, accompanied by a full band that included a harpist. She also performed her own track, ‘Sticky Fingers’.

Ashnikko noted that the Stefani cover was a personal choice, describing the track as ‘the song of my childhood’ and a formative influence that inspired her music career. In an accompanying interview, she discussed her artistry, the importance of choreography, and her interest in bird watching.
