Ashok Gehlot accuses central government of suppressing opposition protests
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has accused the BJP-led central government of attempting to suppress opposition protests in Delhi. Gehlot claimed that the government is creating an atmosphere of fear and chaos by detaining people at railway stations and imposing strict restrictions on transport, including the cancellation of 75 trains and the closure of 57 metro stations.
Gehlot called for a ‘Delhi Chalo’ march, urging citizens and youth to march to the Supreme Court to submit a memorandum to the Chief Justice. The protest aims to address issues regarding alleged electoral irregularities and ‘vote theft,’ specifically questioning the integrity of voter lists.
The Congress leader further criticized the Election Commission for its perceived inaction and accused the ruling party of labeling democratic dissent as a conspiracy involving foreign powers. He called on the government to engage in dialogue with opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Akhilesh Yadav, rather than suppressing their voices.
