Ashok Gehlot alleges government pressure on Rajasthan ACB
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has alleged that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) is facing government pressure, casting doubt on the impartiality of its investigation into IAS officer Shikhar Agarwal. The probe concerns Agarwal’s reported purchase of 40 villas and cottages from a single company.
Gehlot claimed that a female officer holding the rank of Additional Director General (ADG) is exercising undue influence over the bureau, acting as a “Super Director General” with more authority than the actual Director General.
Addressing the media at the state Congress headquarters, Gehlot argued that placing Agarwal under Awaiting Posting Orders (APO) and initiating a Preliminary Enquiry (PE) is insufficient action. He questioned why the matter has not yet progressed to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) despite significant national media attention.
