Ashok Vajpayee accuses Congress of insulting Sanatan Dharma
Former BJP MP Ashok Vajpayee has accused the Congress party of insulting Sanatan Dharma following a fish feast held in Ayodhya during a welcome ceremony for Uttar Pradesh Congress President Ajay Rai. Vajpayee described the event as ‘extremely unfortunate,’ noting that Ayodhya is a sacred city and the birthplace of Lord Ram, and that holding such a feast during the holy month of Sawan shows a lack of respect for Hindu sentiments.
Vajpayee further criticized the Congress party’s politics, alleging that they engage in appeasement to secure vote banks. He also addressed the controversy surrounding Sajjan Kumar, a figure linked to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, stating that the party’s sympathy toward him reveals the mindset of its leaders. Additionally, Vajpayee commented on Rahul Gandhi’s response to student protests in Jharkhand, suggesting a lack of meaningful action compared to previous rhetoric.
