Florida State football secured its first Atlantic Coast Conference victory of the season with a 38-7 win over Virginia at Doak Campbell Stadium. Despite trailing 7-0 early in the first quarter, the Seminoles responded with 38 unanswered points.

Quarterback Ashton Daniels set a school record by scoring five rushing touchdowns. His scoring runs included distances of 1, 3, 4, 6, and 81 yards. Daniels finished the game with 136 rushing yards and 183 passing yards.

The Florida State defense dominated the latter stages of the game, recording 10 sacks and holding Virginia to just 37 rushing yards on 40 carries. Virginia quarterback Beau Pribula completed 14 of 32 passes for 168 yards in the loss.

Following the game, Florida State coach Mike Norvell expressed confidence in the team's potential, stating, “I believe this can be a really good and dominant football team.” Virginia coach Tony Elliott attributed the loss to missed opportunities and execution errors.
