Ashton Jeanty cleared to play in Raiders season opener

Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty is expected to play in the team’s season opener against the Miami Dolphins this Sunday following an ankle injury sustained during practice on August 23. Jeanty, the team’s sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, was initially seen being helped off the field after landing awkwardly on a low pass, but he has since returned to full practice participation.

Jeanty expressed optimism about his recovery, stating he feels “really good” and that the injury appeared more alarming than it actually was. His availability provides a boost to the Raiders' offense under head coach Klint Kubiak, especially as the team also faces the loss of star tight end Brock Bowers. Bowers is expected to miss one to two games after undergoing a meniscus trim following a knee injury in practice last week.
