Ashton Kutcher and Alison Brie to star in Gregg Araki film

Director Gregg Araki has begun production on a new ensemble dark comedy titled ‘The Decline of F*cking Western Civilization’. The film, which has started filming in Los Angeles, features a cast including Ashton Kutcher and Alison Brie. Jesse Williams is also reportedly in talks for a third major role.

Described as a blend of dark comedy and drama that draws comparisons to ‘Election’ and ‘American Beauty’, the specific plot details remain under wraps. The project is being produced by Why Not Productions and Goodfellas, with a script by Kevin W. Koehler. This follows Araki’s recent work on the erotic thriller ‘I Want Your Sex’.
