Asia Argento to receive Lifetime Achievement Award at Locarno Film Festival

The 79th Locarno Film Festival will honor Italian actress and director Asia Argento with the Lifetime Achievement Award. The presentation is scheduled for August 13 at the Piazza Grande.

In addition to receiving the honor, Argento will appear in the screening of ‘La Muerte No Tiene Dueño’, the third feature film by Venezuelan director Jorge Thielen Armand. The film, which previously premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in the Quinzaine des Réalisateurs section, has received positive critical and audience reception.

Locarno Artistic Director Giona Nazzaro praised Argento as an artist who constantly challenges herself and explores the boundaries of cinema through both acting and directing. Argento expressed her emotion regarding the recognition, noting that the invitation was unexpected.
