Asia commercial insurance rates fall 5% in Q2 2026

Commercial insurance rates across Asia fell by 5% in the second quarter of 2026, matching the decline from the previous quarter. According to Marsh’s Asia Insurance Market Index, this trend is driven by intensified competition among insurers and available capacity.

Property insurance rates in the region dropped by 5%. While Taiwan and Korea saw the largest decreases at 18% and 13% respectively, Vietnam experienced a 13% increase due to regulatory pricing tariffs. Casualty insurance rates declined by 3%, with Korea seeing the largest drop of 12%.

Financial and professional lines rates fell by 7% across Asia, led by a 14% decrease in China. Cyber insurance rates also saw an 8% decline, with Korea recording the most significant drop at 18%. While insurers are adding capacity in priority sectors, they are maintaining a cautious approach toward AI-related exposures by applying sub-limits and exclusions due to rising AI-driven cyber threats.
