Asia Express 2026: Contestants face challenges on the Silk Road

The ninth season of the reality competition ‘Asia Express – Drumul Mătăsii’ is underway, following contestants through Uzbekistan and China. The competition has already seen significant developments and challenges.

The team consisting of What’s UP (Marius Marian Ivancea) and Miky has been eliminated from the competition after only three episodes in Uzbekistan. Their departure follows a difficult period where they required medical assistance for minor ailments and struggled to keep pace with other teams during immunity missions.

Other participants are facing various hurdles. Cheloo and Mihai Ban have encountered difficulties, including Cheloo’s refusal to participate in a specific task involving traditional Uzbek dance. Reports indicate that Cheloo’s contract includes a remuneration of approximately 3,000 euros for each completed stage.

Mirela Vaida has also shared personal reflections on the competition, noting the impact of her absence on her three children while she travels the Silk Road.
