Asia Express contestants Mirela Retegan and Maya eliminated

Mirela Retegan and her daughter, Maya, have been eliminated from the competition Asia Express following a high-stakes last-chance race on the Silk Road. The elimination occurred during a tense episode where other teams, including Maurice Munteanu and Connie Preda, demonstrated significant recovery to finish first at the checkpoint.

Another competing team, Valerie Lungu and Alex Gîlcă, faced a 30-minute penalty for using an English command, which contributed to Retegan and Maya finishing last. Despite their exit, Retegan and Maya earned a total of 21,000 euros for their seven weeks of participation, calculated at 3,000 euros per stage.

In emotional statements following the race, Retegan expressed regret for being the 'weak link' in the team, while Maya described the experience as a 'bittersweet' feeling.
