Asia Pacific commercial real estate investment rises 22% in H1 2026

Asia Pacific’s commercial real estate investment volumes rose 22% year-on-year in the first half of 2026, according to research from Savills. The recovery was driven by a return of capital to traditional sectors, with retail investments leading the surge at 51%, followed by office investments at 22% and industrial and logistics at 21%.

Regional performance varied, with Singapore and Taiwan outperforming due to large transactions, while Mainland China and Hong Kong saw growth from lower previous bases. Investor behavior is shifting toward joint ventures, club deals, and partial-stake acquisitions to gain greater portfolio control and alignment, moving away from traditional pooled investment structures.

India is identified as a primary long-term destination for real estate investment due to sustained economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and robust occupier demand. There is also an increasing regional allocation toward data centers and living sectors.
