Asia-Pacific equity sales poised to break 2021 records
Asia-Pacific companies are on track to potentially surpass their 2021 record for share and convertible bond fundraising. Driven by an artificial intelligence boom, investment is surging in sectors such as chips, data centers, and power systems.
According to LSEG data, firms in the region have raised US$327.1 billion through equity deals so far in 2026, representing a 53% increase compared to the previous year. To exceed the 2021 historical high of US$557.6 billion, the region requires an additional US$230.6 billion in the final quarter.
The current pipeline includes significant potential offerings, such as Australian AI infrastructure firm Firmus, Singaporean operator DayOne, and Chinese chipmaker Yangtze Memory Technologies, each of which could raise approximately US$5 billion. Other notable upcoming activities include a US$3.8 billion IPO for Reliance Jio Platforms in Mumbai and a US$2.2 billion rights issue for Samsung Biologics in South Korea.
