Asia travel trade shows highlight regional economic growth
Major travel industry trade shows in Asia have highlighted significant growth and networking opportunities within the leisure, MICE, and corporate travel sectors.
ITE Hong Kong has announced its 2027 schedule, set for June 10–13 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. The event serves as a primary entry point for the premium Chinese travel market, with two-thirds of its trade buyers originating from the Greater Bay Area (GBA). The GBA, which includes cities like Shenzhen and Guangzhou, represents a massive economic force with a GDP of US$2.15 trillion. Recent data indicates Hong Kong residents contribute significantly to outbound travel, with high-net-worth families driving substantial spending.
In India, the fourth edition of ITB India recently concluded at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The three-day event brought together over 3,000 industry professionals and more than 400 qualified buyers. Exhibitors represented diverse regions including Southeast Asia, Europe, Africa, and South America, focusing on connecting global suppliers with the growing South Asian travel market.
