Asia Youth International Model United Nations gathers 750 delegates in Malaysia

Approximately 750 youths from 25 different countries gathered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the 22nd Asia Youth International Model United Nations (AYIMUN) from August 21 to 24, 2026. Organized by the International Global Network (IGN), the event utilized a United Nations simulation format to allow participants to discuss international issues and refine their diplomatic skills.

Delegates, including representatives from Australia, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and the United States, engaged in research, negotiation, and the drafting of joint resolutions. Muhammad Fahrizal, President of the International Global Network, emphasized that the forum serves as a training ground for real-world skills, such as public speaking, active listening, and respectful disagreement. Malaysian government representative Azlinda binti Azman noted the importance of such platforms in fostering cross-cultural understanding and empathy among the younger generation.
