Asian Chinese Writers Association holds 16th assembly in Taichung

The Asian Chinese Writers Association (ACWA) held its 16th Membership Representative Assembly and Chinese Literature and Culture Inheritance Forum in Taichung, Taiwan. This marks the first time in the association's 46-year history that the event has been hosted in Taichung.

Organized in collaboration with the Taichung City Industrial, Commercial and Development Promotion Association and National Taichung University of Science and Technology, the assembly brought together over 70 writers and scholars from regions including Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Vietnam, the United States, Canada, Germany, and Australia. The event focused on the inheritance and innovation of Chinese literature, with discussions addressing the impact of generative artificial intelligence and digital reading on creative processes.

Key themes included the evolution of Chinese literature from an Asian to a global perspective and the continuity of culture across generations. To support academic resources, more than 300 works were donated to the National Taichung University of Science and Technology library for future research and exhibition.
