Asian Junior Chess Championships held in Mumbai
The Asian Junior Chess Championships in Mumbai have seen results across both the Rapid and Classical formats. In the Rapid Championship, India's Vivaan Vishal claimed the Open title with 6 points out of 7 rounds. In the Girls' section, Turkmenistan's Shohradova Lala won the title via tie-breaks after finishing level on points with India's Pratitee Bordoloi.

However, other leading contenders faced challenges, as Vignesh Advaith Vemula and Kazakhstan's Akhilbay Imangali were both held to draws by lower-rated opponents. The girls' section also saw notable upsets, including a victory by Uzbekistan's Liliya Belaya over India's Archita Agrawal.
The Classical Open Championship features 85 players from nine federations, including six International Masters and eleven FIDE Masters. The event was inaugurated by Indian Grandmaster Vidit Gujrathi.
