Asian Producers Alliance formed at Busan film market

At the Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) during the Busan International Film Festival, independent producers from five Asian territories have launched the Asian Producers Alliance (APA). The coalition, which includes the Producers Guild of Korea, the Indonesian Film Producers Association, the Philippine Independent Producers Group, the Hong Kong Movie Production Executives Association, and the Taiwan Producers Association, aims to promote cross-border co-production and strengthen the protection of creators' rights.

In addition to the formation of the APA, the ACFM is highlighting technological advancements through its InnoAsia program. This initiative focuses on AI, virtual production, and VR/AR, featuring participation from companies such as Google DeepMind, Amazon Web Services, and Kling AI. The market also continues to host specialized programs like DocSquare for documentary filmmakers and ‘The A’ conference, which covers film distribution and investment across 15 Asian territories.
