US launches ‘Operation Economic Outcast’ to isolate Iran

The United States has launched ‘Operation Economic Outcast,’ a massive economic campaign designed to isolate Iran and sever its global financial lifelines. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced that the initiative targets five critical sectors used by the Iranian regime to sustain its economy: digital assets, technology, gold, aviation, and shipping.

As part of this offensive, the Treasury Department has sanctioned over 60 entities, individuals, and vessels. Bessent warned that any nation or organization facilitating money laundering for Iran or continuing economic ties with the regime could face severe secondary sanctions, including exclusion from the US dollar system. He noted that President Donald Trump is actively contacting international leaders to urge them to cease all economic dealings with Tehran.

In response, the Iranian government has warned that any country participating in this isolation campaign will be treated as an enemy. Iranian officials also stated they would use all available means to resist the economic pressure and maintain national sovereignty. The escalation comes nearly six months into a conflict that has seen heightened tensions in the Strait of Hormuz and stalled diplomatic negotiations.
