IHSG closes lower at 6,071 level amid market volatility

The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) experienced significant volatility and downward pressure during late September 2026. On Wednesday, September 30, the index closed lower by 0.83 percent, dropping 50.56 points to the 6,071.14 level. This followed a 0.43 percent decline on the previous Tuesday.

Market analysts attribute the downturn to several domestic and international factors. Domestically, investors are monitoring the implementation of a new minimum share price rule of Rp1, though the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) clarified that low-priced stocks have a minimal impact on the overall index. Additionally, the passage of the 2027 State Budget (APBN), which maintains a fiscal deficit of 2.4 percent of GDP, is a key focus.

Internationally, the market is reacting to global economic uncertainty, including fluctuations in the Indonesian Rupiah against the US Dollar, rising US Treasury yields, and volatile oil prices. Investors are also closely watching signals from the US Federal Reserve regarding potential interest rate hikes and upcoming US economic data, such as the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) index.
