Asian stock markets forecast positive openings amid global gains
Asian stock markets, including those in Indonesia and Malaysia, are expected to open higher following positive performance in European and U.S. markets.
The Jakarta Composite Index has seen consecutive gains, rising over 330 points or 6.5 percent in recent trading to approach the 5,330-point mark. Recent growth in Indonesia was driven by infrastructure, financial, and agriculture stocks. Similarly, the Kuala Lumpur Composite Index has finished higher in back-to-back sessions, sitting just above 1,600 points, supported by technology and financial shares.
The positive outlook for the region is bolstered by easing oil prices and upbeat corporate earnings news. In the United States, major indices including the Dow, NASDAQ, and S&P 500 trended upward, with the NASDAQ showing strength in the technology sector following earnings reports from companies such as Tesla and Super Micro Computer. Additionally, West Texas Intermediate crude prices edged lower amid reports of progress in Strait of Hormuz shipping traffic.
