The Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) held its 26th General Assembly and its inaugural AVC Gala in Bangkok, Thailand. The General Assembly, opened by AVC President Ramon Suzara, focused on governance, the development of volleyball and beach volleyball, and potential updates to the AVC Constitution.

During the event's first-ever gala, several athletes received recognition. Philippine players Bryan Bagunas and Bernadeth Pons won the Fans’ Choice awards for Men’s Volleyball and Beach Volleyball, respectively. FIVB President Fabio Azevedo attended the event, noting that the gala should become a tradition to honor athletes who inspire future generations.
