ASICS and Nippon Athletic Facilities test recycled footwear paving

ASICS Corporation and Nippon Athletic Facilities Co., Ltd. have launched a demonstration experiment at ASICS Satoyama Stadium using paving materials made from recycled footwear. The material incorporates crushed components from ASICS deadstock, samples, and products that did not meet sales standards.

The project aims to verify the durability, comfort, and environmental value of using recycled shoe materials as rubber chips in paving. This initiative builds upon previous resource circulation efforts between ASICS and FC Imabari. The experimental track, consisting of two 9-meter lanes, is scheduled to be in use through the end of the 2026/27 season, with the experiment expected to conclude by late June 2027.
