ASICS hosts Jakarta Speed Race 2026 with new One Mile category

ASICS held the second edition of the Jakarta Speed Race 2026 at the PIK 2 area in Tangerang on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The event, themed ‘Celebrating the Positivity of Morning Runs and the Beauty of Sunrises’, featured a 5K performance-based race alongside a newly introduced One Mile Race exhibition.

The 5K category utilized a time qualification and ballot system on a flat, fast course designed to help runners achieve personal bests. The route received certification from the Indonesian Athletics Association (PB PASI). The new One Mile Race, covering approximately 1.6 kilometers, was introduced to provide a competitive alternative with a shorter distance.

ASICS Indonesia President Director Yuya Sugiyama stated the event supports the Indonesian running ecosystem, catering to both recreational runners and elite athletes. To support the competition, ASICS previously held ‘Road to Jakarta Speed Race’ initiatives in Surabaya, Bali, and Makassar, and implemented the ASICS Elite Youth Female program for U-18 student athletes.
