Asif Khan banned for 15 months for anti-doping violation

UAE cricketer Asif Khan has been issued a 15-month ban by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for violating the ICC Anti-Doping Code. The sanction follows an out-of-competition test conducted on September 8, 2025, which detected a metabolite of mesterolone, a prohibited synthetic androgen, in his sample.

Khan entered into a Case Resolution Agreement with the ICC and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), admitting to the breach of Article 2.1. The 15-month ineligibility period is backdated to the date of the sample collection and is set to conclude on December 7, 2026. He will be eligible to return to competitive cricket on December 8, 2026, though he may resume team training as of October 8, 2026.

As part of the sanction, all individual results recorded by Khan between September 8, 2025, and December 29, 2025, have been disqualified. This includes the forfeiture of any medals, points, prize money, or other prizes earned during that timeframe.
