Asir Executive Committee reviews H1 2026 urban improvement progress

The Asir Visual Distortion Treatment Executive Committee held its 53rd meeting to review performance indicators and achievements for the first half of 2026. The committee evaluated progress in addressing visual distortions and urban landscape improvements across the Asir region.

Key achievements reported include a 51.7% increase in issued permits, totaling 3,768, and the processing of 940 reports via the unified reporting center. The General Administration of Education in Asir presented initiatives such as the ‘Planting One Million Trees’ project and efforts to humanize school environments to enhance community awareness.

The National Water Company reported achieving 24-hour continuous water pumping, a 98% quality rate for treated water, and the planting of over 60,000 trees. Additionally, the Asir Region Municipality discussed the ‘Place Making’ program, which aims to integrate urban development, enhance architectural identity, and improve spending efficiency. The meeting concluded with discussions on overcoming challenges and improving coordination between service entities to ensure sustainable urban improvement.
