Askanews presents new podcast series in Rome

Askanews held a roundtable discussion in Rome to present its new podcasting products and in-depth audio series. The agency introduced two specific series dedicated to women: ‘Direttrici d’Orchestra’ and ‘Italiane della scienza’.

Editorial director Paolo Mazzanti noted that podcasting offers extreme flexibility as a supplement to primary news sources, emphasizing the importance of editorial control to combat conspiracy theories and fake news. Feature editor Alessandra Quattrocchi stated the series aim to profile women who have succeeded in traditionally male-dominated fields, reflecting a changing Italian society.

This event serves as a prelude to the Podcasting Festival in Milan, scheduled for October 2 and 3, where Askanews will serve as a media partner. The presentation included Annamaria Nassisi, a Space Economy Manager at Thales Alenia Space Italia.
