Asker municipality receives award for AI error

Asker municipality has been awarded the ‘Tenkekassa’ prize by Humanistisk Ungdom for its uncritical use of artificial intelligence. The municipality used an AI-generated court ruling as a basis for a real political case regarding environmental activists, despite the ruling being non-existent.

In response to the error, Asker municipality is rolling out new guidelines for generative AI use. These new protocols will require human oversight, quality assurance, and measures to protect confidential information to prevent similar mistakes in the future.
