ASKY and Ethiopian Airlines to build $100M maintenance center in Lomé

ASKY Airlines and Ethiopian Airlines are planning a $100 million joint venture to establish a regional Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) center in Lomé, Togo. The facility is intended to serve West and Central Africa, aiming to reduce the region's dependence on foreign maintenance infrastructure.

The initial phase of the project includes the construction of two hangars for narrow-body aircraft and a specialized workshop for component repairs. Future expansions may include capabilities for wide-body aircraft to support ASKY's long-haul ambitions. The project is part of a broader $350 million five-year investment program aimed at doubling ASKY's fleet to 30 aircraft.

First tenders for the construction are expected to be launched in 2027. Beyond aviation efficiency, the center is expected to create technical employment and training opportunities in aeronautical mechanics and avionics within Togo.
