Asl di Teramo denies infection alarm in local healthcare facilities

Maurizio Di Giosia, Director General of the Asl di Teramo, has dismissed recent reports of an infection alarm within the province's healthcare facilities, calling such claims a “false representation” that does not align with actual data.

Speaking at an interregional conference involving experts from Abruzzo, Marche, and Umbria, Di Giosia emphasized that the agency's data shows no exceptional conditions or emergencies compared to the national average. The conference addressed critical topics including antibiotic resistance, vaccinations, antifungal therapies, and antiviral management.

The Asl di Teramo has maintained long-standing protocols for infection risk control, including the restructuring of its surveillance committee in 2018. In 2025, the agency further strengthened its monitoring capabilities by adopting a new regional integrated plan and establishing an epidemiological operational group to combat antibiotic resistance.
