ASL Foggia implements workplace oncological and HCV screenings

ASL Foggia has implemented a proximity prevention model that brings oncological and Hepatitis C (HCV) screenings directly to workplaces. This initiative, which integrates the expertise of the Prevention and Safety in the Working Environment Service (SPESAL) with the agency’s Oncological Screening Center, utilizes mobile units such as the ‘Mammomobile’ and ‘Papmobile’ to reach private companies and public administrations.

Preliminary results from the program conducted between 2025 and 2026 show significant engagement. The initiative involved 329 workers and provided a total of 671 services, including 623 oncological and HCV screenings and 48 tetanus vaccinations. The program reported a high average participation rate of 94.5%. The findings are scheduled to be presented at the National Congress of Occupational Medicine in Messina.
