ASL Napoli 3 Sud stops home physiotherapy, 300 patients left without care

The regional health authority ASL Napoli 3 Sud did not renew the contracts of 25 physiotherapists, resulting in an immediate suspension of home physiotherapy services for roughly 300 patients in the southern Naples area, from the Sorrento peninsula to San Giorgio a Cremano. Affected individuals include the elderly, people with motor disabilities and patients with neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, who rely on regular therapy to maintain autonomy and quality of life. Families reported that many patients learned of the interruption only after therapists stopped appearing, and no official explanation for the contract non‑renewal has been provided.

The disruption has raised concerns about both physical and psychological impacts on patients and highlights a lack of communication from the health authority.
