Asl Roma 5 suspends specialist physician for six months
A specialist physician working within an Asl Roma 5 health district has been suspended for six months without pay. The decision, signed by Director General Silvia Cavalli, follows disciplinary proceedings initiated after patients reported that the specialist suggested reducing medications and treatments, which allegedly led to a worsening of their medical conditions.
The physician had previously challenged an initial suspension but was reinstated. However, new reports of similar anomalous behavior prompted a formal disciplinary process starting in May. The suspension is in accordance with the National Collective Agreement for specialists. The physician is required to notify the relevant district and personnel management directors regarding their return to duty.
