ASL Salerno opens pediatric epilepsy clinics in Agropoli and Battipaglia
ASL Salerno has launched a new Pediatric Epilepsy Clinic to provide diagnosis, therapy, and follow-up care for children and adolescents. The service will operate across two locations: the Child and Adolescent Neuropsychiatry (NPIA) facility in Agropoli and the territorial headquarters in Battipaglia.
In Agropoli, the clinic will also offer Day Hospital services to facilitate diagnostic investigations and clinical procedures that require extended stays without the need for full inpatient hospitalization.
The initiative aims to provide specialized care closer to patients' residences, reducing the need for families to travel to distant medical centers. Because epilepsy in developing children requires highly specialized expertise and personalized treatment plans that adapt to neurodevelopmental changes, the clinic focuses on long-term monitoring to ensure treatment efficacy and tolerability as patients grow.
