ASL Salerno reports low turnout for emergency medicine recruitment

ASL Salerno has finalized the ranking and service induction for winners of a public competition aimed at recruiting thirty medical directors for emergency-urgency medicine departments. Despite the goal to bolster emergency rooms and address critical staff shortages, only eleven candidates were deemed eligible for the thirty available positions.

The successful candidates include seven specialists and four doctors in specialist training. To address the remaining vacancies, the agency will utilize fixed-term, part-time contracts of 32 hours per week, with a guarantee of transition to permanent status once specialization is completed. This initiative is supported by a budget allocation of 946,000 euros.
