ASL Teramo faces reported financial deficit, union demands clarification

The UGL Salute Abruzzo union, represented by secretary Stefano Matteuzzi, has expressed strong concern after an internal ASL Teramo document revealed a serious accounting loss that could jeopardise the agency’s financial stability as early as the second quarter of 2026. The union says the deficit appears despite no corresponding increase in health services and notes that investments for reorganising the territorial network are largely financed through PNRR funds, which cannot be used to justify current financial shortcomings.

UGL Salute Abruzzo has demanded a transparent explanation from ASL Teramo’s management and the regional health authority, stressing that health workers and the public have the right to know the true state of the accounts and to understand any measures beyond mere cost‑cutting that will be taken to prevent the crisis from affecting personnel and essential services.
