Aslam Bridge project reports high employment for young migrants in Lombardy

The first year of the ‘Bridge Project’ in Lombardy has yielded significant results for the professional training and integration of young migrants. According to data presented at a conference in Milan, 70% of students who completed the program found employment within just two months, while another 20% chose to continue their education.

Promoted by Aslam, an accredited professional training entity in the Lombardy Region, and supported by the Villum Foundation through the EYE Program 2024, the initiative targets individuals aged 18 to 35 who have completed middle school. The project aims to address a local labor shortage, estimated at tens of thousands of workers, by transforming occupational needs into opportunities for social and economic inclusion.

Simona Tironi, the Regional Councilor for Education, Training, and Labor, stated that the project demonstrates how professional training serves as a decisive tool for building autonomy and integration by connecting business needs with the skills and aspirations of young people.
