ASM and BVGH launch digital scientific writing course
The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) and BIO Ventures for Global Health (BVGH) have launched a 10-session digital lecture series focused on scientific writing. The program is designed to support researchers worldwide, specifically targeting scientists in low-resource settings who may have limited access to professional development opportunities for manuscript preparation.
The curriculum covers various aspects of the publication process, including journal selection, writing specific manuscript sections such as methods and results, developing figures and tables, authorship ethics, and the application of artificial intelligence in scientific writing. Each 90-minute session includes a question-and-answer period.
Speakers for the series include experts from diverse geographic backgrounds, such as representatives from Dow University of Health Sciences, University of Sri Jayawardenapura, Fiocruz, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Emory University, and Johns Hopkins University. Registration for the series is free, and participants can earn certificates of completion based on attendance and exam performance.
