ASM Clermont announces leadership changes with Joe El-Abd and Christophe Urios

ASM Clermont Auvergne has announced a strategic reorganization of its sporting leadership to initiate a new cycle aimed at returning to the top of the standings and securing titles.

As part of this evolution, Joe El-Abd, currently the defense coach for the England national team, is set to join the club as head coach following the 2027 Rugby World Cup. Christophe Urios, who has served as the club's sporting manager since January 2023, will transition into a higher-level role as the head of the ‘OneASM’ project and sporting director.

In this new capacity, Urios will move away from daily team management to focus on long-term strategy, including recruitment, training policies, and overall institutional coherence. Club president Jean-Claude Pats stated that these changes are intended to help the club continue to progress and reach new milestones.
