ASM Clermont Auvergne outlines strategic goals and contract talks
ASM Clermont Auvergne President Jean-Claude Pats has outlined the club's strategic objectives for the new season, emphasizing financial stability and a long-term sporting project. A key focus is the 'One ASM' initiative, which aims to unify the club's rugby forces under a single sporting identity and project.
Regarding personnel, Pats addressed the future of manager Christophe Urios. While Urios's current contract includes a '2+1' structure and officially expires in June 2027, discussions regarding his future are set to begin this week. Although the official deadline for a decision is late December, the club aims to reach an agreement sooner through transparent negotiations.
The club is also investing in infrastructure and regional development. Pats noted that the club has signed 58 partnership agreements with local clubs to strengthen the Auvergne rugby ecosystem. Additionally, the 'Cité du rugby' is expected to be completed by late 2026, with an official inauguration scheduled for February 2027.
