Italy announces major public sector recruitment and training initiatives
Several employment and training initiatives are underway in Italy. ASMEL has launched a 2026 maxi notice to update lists of eligible candidates for 39 professional profiles within local government entities. Notably, the notice has no maximum age limit and allows candidates to apply even without a high school diploma, provided they have fulfilled mandatory schooling requirements based on their year of birth. Applications for these municipal roles are open until September 30, 2026, via the Asmelab platform.
In the transport sector, Tper is offering a free training program in Bologna for aspiring bus drivers. The initiative, supported by Insieme per il lavoro and Fondazione Aldini Valeriani, aims to provide candidates with necessary licenses (D, E, and CQC) for permanent employment. The program is designed for unemployed individuals and covers all training costs in exchange for a commitment to work for the company.
Additionally, new regulatory frameworks are facilitating the integration of nurses trained in Romania into the Italian National Health Service. Following Legislative Decree 169/2025, which implements EU Directive 2024/505, qualified nurses can complete the necessary ministerial recognition and professional registration to access public sector job competitions in Italy.
